Maguro Fisherman's Socks
Inspired by legendary “Maguro Socks” worn by tuna fishermen in harsh, icy conditions, these thick, ultra-warm, socks have been revived and updated by SAGYO after production was discontinued many years ago.
Finding machinery that could knit such thick yarn was a challenge but in Nara Prefecture, a centre for sock production in Japan, there are still old-fashioned, low gauge machines making it possible.
While the durable design remains almost unchanged, the socks now feature wool for better breathability, anti-slip soles, and soft, elastic cuffs that won’t leave marks. Perfect for winter walks or keeping your feet warm around the house in the colder months.
